The Northern Film Bureau was founded by James Hoghaug in the latter half of 2020 pandemic with one mission in mind. 

Keep businesses and the arts alive.

Since then, James Hoghaug has contacted other members of his school, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, to come together to help achieve the goal.

The Northern Film Bureau is here to make a positive change to both businesses and creative ventures in the North through the use of film. 

The first job James ever had was at an Ace Hardware store that was family-owned. At the Northern Film Bureau, we know what it's like for small business owners and understand the role they play in our communities.

The Northern Film Bureau seeks to help struggling businesses through social media and advertisments admist these uncertain times.

It's no coincidence that Minnesota was once titled the "Paris of America" for the vast amount of arts. Now, in 2021, various studios have refrained from filming in Minnesota and the north altogether in favor of Canada.

Through dedication, through will, and through each effort we put forth, the North will no longer be seen as an unfavorable spot to film in. It will be seen as the hotspot for art once more.
